The army.

Post  Guest on Thu Jun 11, 2009 4:22 pm

Heya.
About 1 year i need to choose what i want to be.
Im thinking about joining the ANA (aswell known as The Dutch Special Army Forces)

And yeah , i played Call of duty 4.
And im quite interested ,
and yes i know.. call of duty is a game , and in the real army there are real bullets and the blood is real.
I want to do something for my country.
Make peace in the world.

What do you guys think?

Making peace with sacrifices... Humans are retarded sometimes.
And helping countries can also be done with other things, but ok your choice

I don't know about your country but in England joining the Army isn't all blood and guts, my son Ubique joined the army to have a career, learn new trades which either can't be done in civi street or are very expensive, work as a team member, beat challenges, do sports some people only dream of, go to other countries, do a job he enjoys (not many people can say that), have a decent sort of life...there are very little jobs in England at the moment, and for him to do most of what he will be doing in the Army he would have to go to college, even uni for years doing lots of theory in a classroom and not get paid for it....in the Army its free, its hands on and he gets paid for it....he realises he will have to go to Afghanistan, but thats the blood and guts side of it.

So what im saying is, if that's how it is in your country...go for it, i personally think a career in the Army is good.

It is something I look back and wished I did.

Even though I have the job of my dreams and all turned out well for me in the end I think it would have made me a more mature, well rounded person.

As it is, I am still just a big kid with no hair that can't look after myself if my wife is at work.

My dogs think I'm great though !

I agree with Slayer, I don't think you'll regret going into the military.

Even now I still have dreams of becoming the English Jason Bourne.

But a bit taller obviously.

good luck with trying to imitate bourne gran o_0
i personally wouldnt want to join the army, i mean ofcourse its exciting and you get to do things noone does, or you have to pay alot for. there you get payed for doing it.
a friend of mine did join the army recently, and hes all good about it, his friends circle is 4 times as big as it used to be, they go out and do stupid/fun-stuff, and yes hes learning how to drive in a tank etc.
so it just really depends on what type you are i guess.
the least you can do is try i think

But in the army you have to shower naked in front of each other and wake up early and it's very tough during war and you can get blown up by a mine.

Looks fun driving a tank though and doing nothing and getting paid until you go to war. Is it a good pay?? And it does look abit fun.

I dont care showering naked in front of other team mates.
i mean , we are all human.. im a boy , you are.. (atleast i hope so)
so why should we be embarresed.

And yes u can be blown up.
But thats the risc u need to take.
Its just what class u want to be Smile

An Career in the army is great yes.
I accept with granny and slayer.

You get pay'd allot to yeh.

I mean , its awesome to drive a tank.. hold guns.. control ur team mates, give them orders.. carry cool helmets and suits and stuff.. carry big guns up ur bag.. throw granade's
thats awesome
especially the army TRAINING!
to get INTO the army, i love that training.
saw it on a video
Cant wait to put the new record there Smile
lol
lmao just kidding xD

Control your team mates yes, unless you are a Private under control from a Lieutenant then no.

Yes Army training does look fun and doing the assault courses, wading through water and mud Very Happy

But i would prefer a decent career.

evryone has his own thing,
i for example are more into chemistry then into the army,
i'd love to hold a gun, try it out,
drive a tank,
fire a bazooka,
a big machine gun,
sniper etc.
i guess evryone at a certain point dreams of that,
and yes maybe once ill get my gun license,
maybe.
even though if you prefer these kinds of stuff above all,
and you like physical, and espcially mental training, yes the army DOES suit you.
i love all these things, but i tend to be rather lazy and im also into different technical stuff etc.
thats why i think the army wouldnt be good for me.
i will do some 'test-days' and or weeks, you never know.
